We are a local team based in Sarasota, Florida. LokalDrp started as a simple idea: that the parks, beaches, and public spaces around us could be more than places you drive past — they could be the setting for small, real-world adventures that bring families and communities outside together.

The platform is free for everyone. Seekers hunt for hidden rewards at no cost, and local businesses, creators, and community members create the treasure hunts that make it all work. Our role is to organize the experience, keep it safe and fair, and help the community grow.

Our mission is to get people outside and exploring their own communities. Every LokalDrp treasure hunt sends a seeker to a real park, beach, or public space — often one they have never visited before. Over a season, that adds up to a genuine familiarity with the local outdoor spaces that make a community worth living in.

We want treasure hunting to be something anyone can join — families with young kids, retirees, teens, solo explorers — without cost, without equipment, and without needing to be an expert. A phone, a park, and a willingness to walk are all it takes.

We built LokalDrp because the outdoor activities we loved as a family always felt like they were missing a small spark — a reason to choose this park over that one, to stay an extra twenty minutes, to come back next weekend. A treasure hunt gives a walk a focus, a goal, and a story to keep.

We also saw local businesses struggling to reach nearby families in a way that felt genuine. A coupon in a feed gets ignored; a gift card hidden in a park down the street gets a family to actually show up. LokalDrp connects those two needs — the desire to explore and the need to be found — in a way that feels like an adventure rather than an advertisement.

We have organized dozens of real treasure hunts across the Sarasota and Bradenton area — from single gift-card drops to multi-park themed events like the Alien Invasion and Dino Egg hunts. Each event taught us something about what makes a hunt work: the right reward, a fair hint, a safe and reachable hiding spot, and a park worth the visit.

That experience shapes everything on the platform — the guides we write, the safety advice we give, the way the archive is structured, and the way businesses are matched to the parks and audiences that fit them. The discovery archive is a public record of those hunts, and it grows automatically as the community finds more.
