Family or Holiday Hunt

A weekend or holiday treasure hunt for the whole family.

A family treasure hunt is a way to spend a weekend morning or a holiday afternoon together. Hide clue cards around the house, yard, or a favorite park you know is open to the public. Each card leads to the next, with a small reward at the end.

How it works

  1. 1Pick a template — birthday or family — and name your hunt.
  2. 2Write or edit the clue cards. Use relative spots ("under the big oak"), never an exact address.
  3. 3Print the clue cards and hide them around your setting.
  4. 4After the event, optionally write a short Hunt Diary and publish it for others to read.
